Teeing up support for men’s health
Teeing up support for men’s health
"Men in Sheds does brilliant work and knowing our fundraising will help them improve their space makes it all worthwhile.” - Tom Oliver, HSE Advisor
This summer we swapped steel frames and site plans for golf clubs and scorecards at Ganstead Park Golf Club, where we hosted the Integra Buildings Charity Golf Day 2025.
Sixteen teams took part, with 64 players out on the course, cheered on by friends and colleagues there to support.
The weather played ball, the competition was lively and the atmosphere was full of generosity.
Our chosen charity was Men in Sheds Haltemprice, part of the UK Men’s Sheds Association, which inspires and helps set up local Sheds across the country.

Men in Sheds Haltemprice is based at Anlaby Community Care Centre, where it’s been running for five years. It has around 45 members, men and women, who meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to share skills, enjoy each other’s company and put their talents to work for the community.
Together we raised £5,500, which will go directly towards supporting Men in Sheds and the valuable work they do.
Men in Sheds Haltemprice Chairman Phil Woodcock said: “The Shed gives people a place to meet, feel part of something and support each other. The building is also a hub for other groups - from the RSPB to the Magic Circle, a craft group and even a ukulele group!
“The money from Integra will help us tackle much-needed repairs to the building and improve the insulation in our workshop and meeting room, so it’ll be warmer and more welcoming for everyone who uses it.

“More than anything, it helps keep people connected, active and positive, which is what the Shed is all about.”
The golf was just as memorable as the fundraising. Orchard Professional Solutions came out on top, with Ennercom taking second place and Lee Hood Plumbing finishing third.
Paul Bolan claimed the longest drive, while Craig Wardale and Paul took the honours for nearest to the pin. The winning team posted an impressive 11 under par – no mean feat.
After a day on the fairways, we rounded things off with a meal, prize-giving and raffle. A special mention has to go to our HSE Advisor Tom Oliver, who organised the day. Pulling together an event of this size takes a lot of effort behind the scenes, and Tom made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Tom said: “It was great to see so many people out enjoying the golf tournament and supporting such a good cause.
“Being able to present the cheque on behalf of everyone at Integra was a proud moment. Men in Sheds does brilliant work and knowing our fundraising will help them improve their space makes it all worthwhile.”
We’re also hugely grateful to our brilliant sponsors: Youngs Site Services, MS Electrical Solutions, Orchard Professional Solutions, Reality Solutions, F&W, East Yorkshire Shutters, Archive On-site Solutions, Boost, Murphy Plant, Cassidy's Unblinds, Smailes Goldie, Yorkshire Plywood, BritCab, Lee Hood Plumbing & Heating, Wilwrights Electrical & Mechanical, Powerplus, Recticel Insulation, Hawthorn Timber, Ennercomm, Abey Air Conditioning, Galaxy Insulation and Musgrave Transport. Your generosity helped make the day such a success.
All in all, it was another charity day to remember, and we look forward to stepping up to the tee again next time.
