As our business continues to thrive, we’re on the lookout for a Production Manager to join our talented manufacturing team.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

The department plays a key role in the completion of the modular and anti-vandal units in line with pre agreed programme objectives.  The department is divided between initial manufacture of the frame of the unit to an agreed specification which meets the requirements of the client and current legislation, followed by the production of the interior to the same specification.

 

The Function of the Production Department

  • To manufacture modular and anti-vandal units to an exact specification following specifically agreed specifications, in line with programme targets, on time and budget from orders placed
  • To provide business back up on logistic/design involvement prior to order
  • To drive quality required by the company that sells on reputation
  • To ensure that materials and working hours are utilized to their maximum efficiencies.
  • Provide effective processes for recording and response to defects, make good processes and aftercare.
  • To ensure total accuracy in production at all times
  • To work with a one team ethic to meet company and project deadlines

 

What We’re Looking For

Production and Programme Management

  • Work with the Head of Manufacturing to plan and organize production schedules and labour.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently, and that quality and standards are maintained throughout the build process.
  • Manage, organise and agree overtime requirements to suit production and deliveries and ensure programme objectives are achieved.
  • Negotiate and agree dates and timescales with project specific sub-contractors in line with programme and delivery requirements.
  • Confirm and liaise with Purchasing to make sure all material requirements for projects are met.
  • Ensure materials are stored correctly and made available to support production programme, liaising directly with stores when necessary.
  • Attending project pre-start meetings and liaising with Technical staff throughout the life cycle of a project and conversing with the relevant Team leaders and QA department to ensure projects run smoothly through the factory.
  • List out requirements for site kits, in a timely manner and liaise with the relevant personnel to make sure it goes with the units, in the correct place.
  • Control of waste management.
  • Maintain, manage and retain relevant documentation for all company tools and equipment, to include repair and routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Report all progress and issues (including production, stock and staffing for example) in the daily 9am meetings to the Head of Manufacturing and Production management team.
  • Work with other managers and employees to implement the company’s policies and goals.
  • Continually assess processes and procedures to make sure they are still relevant to the company’s needs.
  • Provide Saturday morning cover when required on a rota basis.
  • To understand what level of work is required before the production of each project commences.

 

Management of Workforce

  • Manage labour resource to drive production in line with programme requirements.
  • Undertake regular performance appraisal and feedback to all staff, including completion and documentation of the annual appraisal process.
  • Manage sub-contract labour resource to meet programme requirements.
  • Enforce the company’s sickness & absence policy and undertake disciplinary meetings in relation to Policy breaches, working with HR, senior management and directors where appropriate.
  • Provide a holistic approach to daily supervision and lead through effective coaching and support to develop a self-maintained and happy production team.
  • In-Depth knowledge of Management System Standards including ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 etc.
  • A robust understanding of quality, environmental and health and safety management principles and practices

 

Training and Development

  • Work alongside the Head of Manufacturing and college links to implement and oversee an effective programme for the training and development of apprentices, ensuring regular feedback is provided.
  • Ensure all employees and sub-contractors have been inducted and all the documentation is collated and stored appropriately.
  • Identify any training requirements for employees and arrange / liaise such training, reviewing outcomes for efficiency.
  • Ensure all new starters are saw and air tool trained prior to starting work.

Personal Characteristics

  • Ensure that you remain motivated and supportive to all employees at all times, championing, supporting and embracing change and the implementation of programmes and procedures in line with company requirements. Ensure your team remain motivated and feel supported at all times.
  • Ensure all production is to Integra’s quality standards prior to being despatched.
  • To update and drive improvements, reducing production times, costs, staff utilization, reducing wastage and an increase in health and safety disciplines/changes based on those introduced by the company.
  • Manage Health & Safety throughout the site ensuring all activities are carried out safely by employees and sub-contractors. This will include Housekeeping, PPE and COVID procedures
  • To undertake any other activity that is not listed above as is directed by your line manager or a Director

 

Key Expectations

  • Effective co-ordination of apprentices, temporary workers and sub -contractors
  • To support the delivery of successful projects on time and within budget.
  • To ensure production programming targets are consistently met, cost implications are achieved and staffing is controlled and effective.
  • To ensure that materials are ordered and ready prior the commencement of the forthcoming projects.
  • Ensure site safety in line with all Health and Safety and policy regulations, and that all tools and equipment are appropriately and legally tested and certified, and staff appropriately qualified, inducted and qualified.
  • Full management, supervision and accountability or workforce under your direction, and completion of regular performance appraisal and feedback to all staff, including actioning and documentation of the annual appraisal process.
  • Enforcement of all Company policies and procedures, including the company’s sickness & absence policy and accountable for undertaking disciplinary meetings in relation to Policy breaches, working with HR, Senior management & directors where appropriate for staff you line manage.
  • Actively portray your motivation, passion and support to the responsibilities and objectives and requests from Senior Leaders and Directors, championing, supporting and embracing change and the implementation of programmes and procedures in line with company requirements. Ensure your team remain motivated and feel supported at all times.
  • Ensure shop floor is kept tidy and all work areas are cleaned and cleared at the end of every shift.
