A royal reception at Windsor Castle to receive The King’s Award for Enterprise

“To be able to discuss our work in sustainable construction and explain how modular is revolutionising the industry was incredibly special." - Gary Parker, CEO

Integra Buildings CEO Gary Parker attended a special reception at Windsor Castle to celebrate the company’s King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.

Gary was among a select group of business leaders invited to the prestigious ceremony at the historic royal residence, marking a truly memorable moment in Integra’s 28-year history.

The evening provided an opportunity for Gary to speak directly with His Majesty The King about Integra’s pioneering work in sustainable modular construction and the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in offsite manufacturing.

The reception celebrated companies from across the UK which have been recognised with The King’s Awards for Enterprise in 2025.

Integra was the only modular construction business to receive the prestigious award, underlining the company’s position as a true pioneer in sustainable offsite construction.

“Meeting His Majesty The King was an extraordinary experience,” said Gary.

“To be able to discuss our work in sustainable construction and explain how modular is revolutionising the industry was incredibly special. It felt like a real privilege to fly the flag for both Yorkshire business and the modular construction sector.

“This recognition belongs to every single member of the Integra family who has contributed to our journey towards more sustainable construction practices.”

The King’s Award commended Integra for “challenging the boundaries of what is possible in sustainable construction through bespoke design and offsite manufacturing.”

Integra has set a target to be net zero by 2038. The company has cut gas consumption by 22 per cent since 2022, with plans to remove it altogether by 2028, and has installed more than 1,000 rooftop solar panels on office and production facilities to generate 200,000KW of clean electricity capacity.

By expanding its capabilities to provide a full turnkey modular construction service, Integra has delivered huge efficiency improvements in project delivery and enhanced sustainability. Modular manufacturing is a controlled environment which ensures superior build quality, reduction of waste and emissions, and flawless consistency.

Integra strives to meet BREEAM standard – a world-leading sustainability assessment for the built environment and infrastructure – in a growing number of its buildings, and has secured four ISO certifications to underline its focus on excellence and consistency.

As Gary reflected on the evening, he said: “To represent Integra and the modular construction industry at such a prestigious venue was both humbling and inspiring.

“It reinforces our belief that the future of construction is modular, and companies like ours that prioritise sustainability will continue to lead the way.”
