What’s the Role?
We’re on the lookout for highly skilled FLT Drivers you will be experienced in loading and unloading AV / Cabin and Modular units in a fast paced environment or potentially held a similar role in a different environment, i.e. on the Docks moving /loading and un-loading large heavy containers, this is the key criteria for this role.
Key Accountabilities
- Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
- Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport
- Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage areas
- Moving large units including frames, completed Anti vandal units and modular bays across the site and onto appropriate transportation for delivery
- Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
- Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
- Manoeuvring forklifts safely in busy industrial environments
- Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
- Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures
- Ability to work long shifts in cramped, loud and potentially hazardous industrial environments
- Ability to work well in a team with other staff, such as Lorry Drivers or Warehouse Packers, to coordinate the movement of goods
- Knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements
- Knowledge of industrial storage procedures, such as the correct way to stack pallets on top of one another
- Ability to itemise and record stock for inventories
- Constructions Skills Certifications Scheme (CSCS) card for work on construction sites
- Accredited forklift operating licence from an industry-recognised body such as RTITB
- Acknowledge the requirement of the organization for all staff individually and collectively to have an In-Depth knowledge of Management System Standards including ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 etc.
- An understanding of quality, environmental and health and safety management principles and practices
- Keeping the site clean and tidy at all times, removal of waste to be recycled or reused wherever possible or placed in correct disposal areas.
Essential Criteria
- Forklift licence
- Experience working within a stores environment, and on a factory site
- Ability to move, load and lift large and heavy units
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within a Modular builder or on large construction site
- Self motivated and ability to work on own initiative
- Positive attitude and understanding and embracing the values of teamwork
