Integra Buildings delivers life-changing facilities for Moor House School & College
Integra Buildings has delivered state-of-the-art facilities for a school that offers life-changing opportunities to children with special needs.
Moor House School & College, in Oxted, Surrey, provides education and therapy to students with language disorders, helping them to achieve extraordinary outcomes.
Now, the school is moving into a new two-storey teaching and therapy block after Integra, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of modular buildings, completed installation work.
The new building provides welcome additional space for students, including purpose-designed spaces for teaching, therapy and research, a physiotherapy room and a fully equipped sensory space.
The new building at Moor House School & College includes a fully equipped sensory space. Award-winning Integra designed and manufactured the 25m-by-15m modular at its factories in East Yorkshire. It was then transported to Surrey in 14 sections before being assembled on site.
The finished building is a prime example of how modern modular manufacturers are delivering bespoke facilities that exactly meet the requirements of clients.
It includes dedicated spaces for a full range of occupational therapy interventions, including fine and gross motor rooms, as well as an impressive sensory space delivering to the needs of students with sensory integration difficulties.
Other bespoke facilities installed by Integra include hoists and a full-length sliding room divider. The new covered walkway, linking the new teaching block to the main school building. In addition, as the principal contractor, Integra completed a range of works including landscaping, the demolition of existing buildings and the replacement of a covered walkway connecting the extension to the main school building.
Gary Parker, Integra’s Managing Director, said: “Moor House does incredible work with children, so we’re delighted to have brought our expertise to a project that will help improve lives for years to come.
“We passionately believe modular building can deliver transformative benefits to communities and this new teaching block is a great example.
Thanks to our bespoke approach, our team has fulfilled the school’s vision by delivering purpose-designed facilities of the highest quality.
It’s great to see the building come alive as the first students begin to enjoy it.”
Bespoke elements include this sliding room divider. Integra Buildings, which was named Contractor of the Year at last year’s Offsite Awards, has developed a nationwide reputation for excellence in the design, construction and fit-out of modular buildings for a wide range of uses, including education, sport, leisure, healthcare and commercial operations. Recently, it was named in the annual Ward Hadaway list of Yorkshire’s “Fastest 50” growing companies for the second year running.
The school has completed a wide range of education projects, including a landmark, “future-proof” modular primary school in Kent, and a cutting-edge flagship training academy for Severn Trent Water.
