St John Vianney Nursery Classroom

The client required a standalone modular nursery building within the site of St John Vianney Catholic Primary School as a full turnkey solution including associated external landscaping, canopy and fencing. Working under a JCT Contract all site works were undertaken during the school summer holidays ensuring minimal disruption to the school and pupils and ensuring the new building was ready for the September intake of children.

Bespoke Specification:

  • Nursery Classroom Building measuring 13m x 8.8m manufactured in 4 Bays with a render and timber clad exterior finish including coloured render in the schools branding colours and two large roof lights
  • Internally the building provided a Lobby area with coat hooks, open plan classroom, staff office, kitchen/ laundry, children WC’s, staff/ accessible WC, nappy change and large store
  • Externally a landscaped play area and purple coloured hard standing play area under canopy for outside play

    The challenge was to achieve all of the required internal areas including the minimum room sizes within a limited footprint whilst still complying to the minimum external area and maintaining walkways and distances from neighbouring buildings. Through our design team a layout was put together to meet the client and regulation requirements resulting in a fantastic project that meet all expectations in terms of layout, specification, budget and programme.
